What this module provides
The PEP & Sanctions module helps identify whether companies or key associated persons appear in politically exposed person lists or sanctions publications made available by relevant authorities.
Screening results support internal KYB, AML and due diligence procedures by providing structured matches that can be reviewed, documented and incorporated into risk assessments.
Types of lists included
Depending on accessibility and jurisdictional scope, screening may include:
- Politically Exposed Persons lists published by competent authorities
- National or regional sanctions lists issued by governments
- International sanctions lists publicly maintained by official bodies
- Roles or classifications associated with PEP definitions, where such data is exposed
How matching works
Screening compares company names and associated persons against the selected lists using deterministic and fuzzy-matching techniques designed to balance accuracy and reviewability.
Matches are presented with confidence indicators and supporting context so users can evaluate relevance within their own compliance frameworks.
Limitations and data-availability notes
PEP and sanctions data varies across jurisdictions. Some lists are updated frequently, others less so. Coverage depends on what authorities publish and under what licensing terms.
Not all associated persons are publicly disclosed in all jurisdictions. Where underlying registers do not expose such information, screening applies only to available data.
Integration with other modules
The PEP & Sanctions module works alongside Company Profiles, Ownership and Risk Indicators by adding a compliance-focused layer to company and person-level information.
When combined with Monitoring, it can highlight changes in a company’s associated persons or new entries in publicly available lists.
